In the USA (at least) the Abarth models become just a trim level option - all new cars sold (except the possible electric version) will have the same 1.4 multiair turbo engine - the only difference will be front and rear bumper, suspension, ECU map, seats and badges. Worse still, anyone with an earlier Abarth (pre-facelift) will now find the only obvious difference is the badge as the new Fiat 500 facelift gets the old Abarth kit *as standard*.

All credit for streamlining production to reduce costs but a massive no thanks from every customer.
